Summer Berry Smoothie

I’m trying to swap my afternoon tea and biscuit for a healthy smoothie especially as I have a freezer drawer full of fruitful good intentions. This is my go-to quick smoothie, which is more like a milkshake if I’m honest. I love the rich purple colour from the blueberries. It’s perfect for the hot weather and a great alternative for an ice-cream shake for kids as the sugar comes from the fruit and only a drizzle of maple syrup which you can leave out. Everything goes into the blender, blitz until fully mixed and smooth and you are done. If you have ice-pop moulds it makes a lovely ice pop.

Ingredients:

  • Half an avocado
  • 8 frozen strawberries
  • a handful of frozen blueberries (50g)
  • 1 tsp smooth peanut butter
  • drizzle of maple syrup
  • 350ml Cold milk of choice.
  • half frozen or fresh banana – optional
Super Summer Smoothie.
